The United Methodist Women of Fairview United Methodist Church meet
on the first Monday of every month at 7 pm. Each meeting has a devotion or
program as well as a business session where secretary and treasurer
reports are given along with any planning or discussion for upcoming
events that require their attention. The United Methodist Women have
several fundraisers each year where the monies raised can be used for
local missions as well as mission work abroad. The United Methodist
Women participate in events sponsored by the Yadkin Valley District such
as the Day Apart Prayer Breakfast, the Annual Meeting, and Spiritual
Growth Retreats held at Lake Junaluska. The United Methodist Women are
often called upon to help with all manner of church activities including
providing the hotdog supper at vacation bible school and the annual trunk
or treat event. Following are some examples of United Methodist Women
activities: In early spring there is a Mother/Daughter/Membership banquet.
They also host bake sales at the local farmers market as well has an
annual Fall Bazaar in October.
